CCHR Boycotts the Phnom Penh Hotel on Grounds of Human Rights Violations and Encourages Others to Take Responsibility for Supporting Human Rights
The Cambodian Center for Human Rights (“CCHR”) has chosen not to attend a two-day event relating to land and democratic governance that started yesterday, 4 April 2012, due to our decision to boycott the Phnom Penh Hotel, the venue for the event. CCHR intends to boycott both the hotel and any events hosted there for the foreseeable future. The reason for the boycott is that the hotel is owned by governing party senator Ly Yong Phat – one of the biggest land grabbers in Cambodia.

Civil Society Calls on Leaders to Promote a People-Centered ASEAN During Burma Myanmar s Chairmanship in 2014
Two hundred and sixty-three (263) people signed a letter urging ASEAN Heads of State to promote a genuine people-centered ASEAN and the free and meaningful participation of the regional civil society during Burma/Myanmar’s chairmanship of the regional bloc in 2014. The letter was signed by participants of the ASEAN Civil Society Conference/ASEAN People’s Forum (ACSC/APF 2012) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from 29 to 31 March.
