On 28 September, four journalists were attacked in Tboung Khmum province's Memot district. A log was thrown at their car and they were beaten up by assaillants they recognized as timber traders. Two days earlier, the journalists had reported an incident of illegal logging to the military police in Memot district. They believe they were attacked in retaliation and filed a complaint with the Memot District Police.
