On 5 February 2022, a man in plainclothes who identified himself as an immigration officer threatened a foreign journalist from VOD while they were reporting on the testing process of NagaWorld strikers in Phnom Penh. The alleged immigration officer - who refused to show his own credentials - asked the journalist to produce their passport and work permit. The man then threatened the reporter with arrest if they continued to take pictures and videos of the event and did not leave the area. The alleged immigration officer interacted with many uniformed officers while he was interrogating the journalist.
