A journalist and publisher of Anachak Khmer digital news outlet, Prann Sean, was attacked by two men with a stick around midnight on 14 March 2021 while he was trying to sleep outside of a temple in Siemreap. He suffered a cut on his head which required 20 stitches, serious injuries to his nose, and the attackers broke two of his teeth. He believes he is being targeted by illegal loggers because he has frequently reported on illegal timber trading in the area.
