The Office provided support to the mission of two experts visiting the country to identify priorities for reform of the police. The Office also provided support to a mission of senior officials from the Office of Legal Affairs and the Department of Political Affairs of the United Nations and an independent expert who visited the country in August to discuss with the Cambodian authorities the modalities for the establishment of a tribunal with a view to bringing to justice the perpetrators of serious human rights violations committed during the Khmer Rouge period.
