In the first week of trial proceedings in 2013, the Chamber heard the testimony of three witnesses, Sa Vi, Ung Ren, and Chhaom Se. All three witnesses were Khmer Rouge soldiers, and each discussed his experiences prior to and during the fall of Phnom Penh in April 1975.
