Media Legal Defence Initiative (“MLDI”) and Media Defence Southeast Asia (“MD-SEA”) – both non-governmental organizations (“NGOs”) committed to assisting journalists and independent media outlets to defend the right to freedom of expression – yesterday submitted a joint Amicus Brief to the Court of Appeal in advance of Mam Sonando’s appeal hearing which begins on 5 March 2013.
