Pursuant to Article 7(1) of the Cambodian Code of Criminal Procedure, the Accused IENG Sary’s death extinguishes the criminal action against him before the ECCC. At the ECCC, pursuant to International Rule 23bis (6), death also extinguishes any civil action.
