The Cambodian Center for Human Rights (“CCHR”) expresses its concerns that the percentage of women in the fifth mandate of the National Assembly will be lower than in the previous mandate. Official results from the National Assembly elections released by the National Election Committee (“NEC”) on 8 September 2013 indicate that only 20.33% of parliamentarians – or 25 out of 123 seats – will be women, compared to 22% in the previous mandate.
