Unrest broke out in Phnom Penh this afternoon as tensions rose during the mass demonstration organized by the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (“CNRP”). Today’s demonstration was the first of a planned three-day demonstration to call for a thorough and independent investigation into alleged irregularities surrounding the national elections in July.
