    On 16 December 2011, communities living in four provinces, Kampong Thom, Kratie, Preah Vihear and Stung Treng will meet at a public forum organized by the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (“CCHR”) in Morn village, Anlong Chrey commune, Thala Barivat district, Stung Treng province. The forum will provide an opportunity for the communities to voice their concerns relating to illegal logging and land clearing in the Prey Lang forest. The illegal logging and land clearing has strongly affected the livelihoods of villagers throughout these four provinces.

    Celebration of the 63rd Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

    On Saturday 10 December, there will be about 4,000 participants from senate, national assembly, government, UN officials, NGOs , unions, youth, student, indigenous communities, foreign diplomats, gathering to mark the 63rd Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (10 Dec. 1948 - 10 Dec. 2011) at Freedom Park, Phnom Penh from 6.30 am to 4.30 pm. The celebration is tied together with the common themes “Independent Judiciary and Freedom of Expression are Foundations for Social Justice and Respect for Human Rights”.
