Cambodia Hosts Pacific Partnership 2012
Pacific Partnership 2012 will feature the participation of over 1,200 multi-national military service members and civilians aboard the U.S. Navy Military Sealift Command’s hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) who will anchor at Sihanoukville Port to provide free medical, dental, veterinary, and engineering assistance to communities throughout Cambodia, July 29-August 11. Pacific Partnership is U.S. Pacific Fleet’s largest annual humanitarian and civic action mission in the Asia-Pacific region that involves coordination amongst host and partner nations, non-government organizations (NGOs), and other international agencies to ensure a synchronized ability to respond to natural disasters.

CCHR releases report on the use of new media for the promotion and protection of Human Rights in Cambodia
Today, the Cambodian Center For Human Rights (“CCHR”), a non‐aligned , independent, non organization that works to promote and protect democracy and respect for human rights – primarily civil and political rights – throughout the Kingdom of Cambodia (“Cambodia”) releases a report entitled “New Media and the Promotion of Human Rights in Cambodia” (“The Report”). The report seeks to explore the extent to which new media, namely mobile phones and the internet, are used in Cambodia, and in particular how they are used to promote and protect human rights.
