Despite increasing visiblity and social acceptance of LGBT people around the world, health professionals and researchers still face incomplete or false information regarding their health status. The various groups within the LGBT community have different needs, problems and concerns, and therefore require special care, keeping in mind other factors, such as age, ethnicity and socioeconomic status.
