In the past few years, the world has seen a groundswell of support and activism to try to stem the tide of continuing discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. With Cambodia coming to the end of its year as Chair of the Association of South-‐East Asian Nations (ASEAN), now is a perfect opportunity for Cambodia to surf the tide of progress, showcase its growing reputation for tolerance towards LGBT people, and set an example in promoting equality and fighting discrimination.
