Summary

"While they were covering a protest in front of the Chinese Embassy on 23 October to call on China to respect the Paris Peace Agreements, at least eight news producers were harassed:
- a reporter from VOD was intimidated by authorities and chased away when he stood nearby as police questioned a protester. Authorities then tried to confiscate his phone as he attempted to take a photo.
- two news producers at VOD were briefly questioned after they scuffled with police, who forced them to leave the site.
- another reporter at VOD was ordered to stop livestreaming the demonstration on his Facebook page.
- the camera of a Khmer Times photographer was seized.
- a Reuters photographer was told to delete the pictures he had taken and to stop photographing. He was also threatened and ordered not to take pictures.
- a journalist Gerry Flynn, covering the protest for Thmey Thmey, was prevented from observing the protest, hit in the face with a walkie-talkie and told ""Better watch out because you’re in the land of Cambodians”.
- A freelance cameraman had his lens grabbed and authorities attempted to get into his camera bag.
Another account from the scene is that Phnom Penh deputy governor Mean Chanyada was filmed pressuring a journalist to give up his camera before turning to a VOD reporter videoing the scene, shouting ""give me your phone"" and pushing him along the sidewalk."
