On 21 April 2022, a driver and three journalists - Say Raksmey and Tuon Chhunly from news outlet Raksmey Stung Trang, and Min Thy from Raksmey Banteay Dek - were arrested by the police while allegedly investigating a motorbike seller for selling vehicles without tax certificates in Kampong Chhnang. They were arrested at the shop and taken to the provincial police headquarters. Authorities said they had received a complaint from the shop owner and that the four individuals were accused of breaking and entering and unlawful interference in the discharge of public functions. They were released later that same day after the shop owner withdrew his complaint and after they signed an agreement to work ethically and with professionalism.
