Casino Employees Scuffle With Guards at Protest
Two Naga World employees yesterday said that they were injured in a scuffle with security guards at the Phnom Penh casino’s wages. Pich Chanan was among some 400 employees protesting in front of the casino yesterday morning when, she said, the guards began to push them away from the entrance and protesters push back.

Cambodian Activist Says His Radio Station Risks Closure
Cambodian activist Mam Sonando says his radio station which has been critical of Prime Minister Hun Sen’s administration may run of out funds and risk closure following new government restrictions and a refusal to allow the station to expand its broadcast range. Mam Sonado said the Ministry of Information is restricting overseas groups from buying airtime at Beehive Radio, an independent and popular broadcasting radio station in Phnom Penh, and had turned down requests to set up relay stations to beam to the provinces.

PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs have denounced a report made by the United States last Thursday downgrading Cambodia a notch to the Tier 2 Watch List--the scale's second-lowest rank--from Tier 2 for failing to demonstrate evidence of overall increasing efforts to address human trafficking in 2012. The annual report described Cambodia as a source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking.

WASHINGTON DC - The Cambodian government has approved collective reparations for victims of the Khmer Rouge who have taken part in atrocity crimes trials at UN-backed tribunal.
