Draft Acid Law Finished; Grops say Legislation Must have Teeth
The first version of a new draft law on the use and management of acid was completed yesterday by the government, promising to adopt serious punishments for acid throwers and strict regulations on its distribution, a government official said yesterday. Though supportive of the new law, rights workers said it must not stop short of implementing strong enforcement procedures and provide care for acid attack victims.

Government Warns Radio, TV Broadcasters Not To Abuse Copyright
The Ministry of Information on Monday issued a directive ordering both radio and television stations not to let presenters read newspaper articles on air, a common practice, without first seeking permission from the publication. The ministry also ordered presenters not to add their own comments when reading articles, and threatened to shut down any station that disobeyed the directive, which was stamped with the signature of Information minister Khieu Kanharith.
