The Cambodian Center for Human Rights (“CCHR”) has today – 11 February 2016 – published a report entitled, “Access to Collective Land Titles for Indigenous Communities in Cambodia” (the “Report”). The Report is available for download from CCHR’s website in English and Khmer. The Report is the outcome of research conducted by CCHR’s Land Reform Project on the experiences of indigenous communities and their engagement with the process to obtain collective land titles (“CLTs”) in an attempt to formally protect their traditional lands

Civil Society Strongly Condemns Violence Against Demonstrating Bus Drivers
February 6, 2016 - We, the undersigned civil society groups, strongly condemn this morning’s violence by members of the Cambodia for Confederation Development Association (CCDA) against protesting bus drivers and their supporters, as well as the woefully inadequate police response, call for the release of two men arbitrarily arrested and demand an investigation into the violence.

Arrest of Vong Sokhengly typical of continued police intimidation
Mr. Vong Sokhengly was detained without charge on Monday 04 January 2016 for questioning and ‘education’ in regards to his peaceful protest activities. Police also attempted to have him sign a letter promising to move the protest away. This illegal abuse of power by the authorities violates human rights and is part of an ongoing tactic of intimidation in the Kingdom of Cambodia (“Cambodia”).

The Cambodian Center for Human Rights (“CCHR”) has today published a report entitled “LGBT Bullying in Cambodia’s Schools” (“the Report"). The Report is produced by CCHR’s Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (“SOGI”) Project and is the outcome of nation-wide research on the bullying faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (“LGBT”) people during their attendance at school in Cambodia, and its long-term effects. The Report was commissioned after a large gap was identified in what was known about the experiences of LGBT students in schools in Cambodia.
