A building at a factory complex in Cambodia contracted by Japanese footwear retailer Asics collapsed Thursday killing at least three workers and injuring ten, according to officials who vowed to investigate working conditions in the country’s garment plants. Court Hears Case of Man Who Raped 6-year-old
The Court of Appeal yesterday heard the case of a 20-year-old man who in 2011 was convicted and sentenced by the Battambang Provincial Court to four years in prison for repeatedly raping a 6-year-old girl who lived in his village. The provincial court had also ordered then 18-year-old Mich Sokchea, from Ratanak Mondol district’s Sdo commune, to pay the victim’s family 4 million riel, or about $1,000.
