The United Nations General Assembly has endorsed supplementary principles and guidelines which apply to members of the legal professions to enable them to ensure that the organization and administration of justice conforms to international human rights standards: Basic Principles on the Independence of the Judiciary 1985, Guidelines on the Role of Prosecutors 1990 and Principles on the Role of Lawyers 1990. These Principles and Guidelines were incorporated directly or indirectly into Cambodian law in 1992 by articles 1 and 74 of the Provisions relating to the Judiciary and Criminal Law and Procedure Applicable in Cambodia during the Transitional Period (known as the “UNTAC Law”) and underpin subsequent relevant legislation

Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (1998)

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 ​​December 1948. Since then, in commemoration of this important event, 10 December is recognized as "the International Human Rights Day" each year. In 1993, the Declaration of Human Rights is included in Article 31 of the Constitution of Cambodia; therefore, this Declaration constitutes as part of Cambodian law. Within the Declaration, the UN states equally the literal and ordinary terms of rights for every human being. These are your rights. You shall understand about these rights by yourselves.
